I think this implementation is significantly harder to read about. When I read the recursive solutions I can see relatively quickly that they are correct. The iterative solution contains distracting concerns, dealing with concepts that aren’t present in the problem statement. This is the definition of incidental complexity, and this complexity makes it significantly harder to understand the order in which nodes will be sequenced.
